Terms & Conditions

These terms set out how we work and what you can expect from us. They are written in plain language because a contract nobody understands helps nobody.

By requesting a quote, accepting a scope of works or using this website, you agree to these terms. Please read them alongside any written quote we send you, which takes precedence where the two overlap.

Acceptance of these terms

These terms form the agreement between you and Ultra Home Base. If you are accepting them on behalf of a company or a property you manage, you confirm that you have authority to do so. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.

About our service

We provide home renovation and home improvement services, including interior decor, exterior and garden renovation, security and fire safety installations, roofing, solar, window replacement, flooring and bathroom remodeling, together with guidance on renovation finance and warranty cover.

We act as the main contractor and coordinator for your project. Where specialist work is required, we engage vetted trades who remain accountable to us, and to you through us. Any advice given on this website or over the phone is general in nature and does not replace a site-specific survey.

Quotes, scope and variations

  • Quotes are based on the information available at the time of survey and remain open for the period stated on the document itself.
  • Any work not listed in your written scope is treated as a variation. We will always price and agree variations with you in writing before carrying them out.
  • Where we uncover something unforeseen — hidden damage, outdated wiring, a defective substrate — we will stop, explain the options and agree the way forward before proceeding.
  • Allowances in a quote (for example, for tiles or fittings not yet chosen) are estimates. If your selection costs more, the difference is agreed with you in advance.

Scheduling, access and delays

We agree a start date and a programme with you in advance and keep you updated as the work progresses. Dates are estimates made in good faith and may shift because of weather, material availability, permit processing or conditions found on site. If something changes, we will tell you promptly and explain why.

We need safe access to the property, a reasonable working space and, where relevant, a power and water supply. If access is withdrawn or delayed through no fault of ours, we may need to reschedule and adjust the programme.

Payments

Payment terms are set out in your quote or contract. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, a deposit secures the booking and materials, with progress payments tied to defined stages of the work and a final balance due on completion. Balances are payable on the agreed date; late payment may pause the programme and may accrue interest where permitted by law.

Workmanship and warranties

We warrant that our workmanship is carried out with reasonable care and skill and in line with the agreed scope and applicable building standards. Manufacturer warranties on materials, products and appliances are passed through to you, and we will help you make a claim if one is needed.

Warranties do not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, alteration by others, or normal wear and tear. Any guarantees we issue are provided in writing at handover, together with care instructions for the materials installed.

Insurance and liability

We maintain appropriate insurance for the work we carry out, and the trades we engage are required to do the same. Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profit or opportunity, and our total liability in connection with a project is limited to the value of the contract.

Cancellation and changes

You may cancel or postpone a booking by telling us in writing. Because materials are ordered and trades are booked in advance, a cancellation fee may apply to cover costs already committed. We will always explain any charge before applying it. We reserve the right to decline or discontinue work where it would be unsafe, unlawful, or outside our competence.

Your responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information about the property, including any known issues with structure, wiring, plumbing or hazardous materials.
  • Confirm that you own the property or have the owner's permission for the work.
  • Secure any permits or approvals that are your responsibility, unless we have agreed in writing to obtain them for you.
  • Keep children, pets and valuables away from the working area while trades are on site.

Intellectual property

The content of this website — text, photography, logos, design layouts and downloadable guides — belongs to Ultra Home Base or is used with permission. You may view, print or share it for your own non-commercial use. Please do not reproduce it commercially, or use our name or logo, without written permission.

Privacy

How we handle your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. If you have subscribed to our newsletter, you can unsubscribe at any time.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the courts of Philadelphia have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest of the terms remain in force.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page applies from the moment it is posted. Where a change materially affects an existing contract, we will tell you in writing.
